St. James Episcopal Church Africa Project: Liberia School Project
At St. James Episcopal Church, we believe that God’s mission extends beyond our own walls and calls us into relationships with our neighbors around the world. Through prayer, generosity, and partnership, our parish is blessed to support a ministry in Liberia that is bringing education, hope, and opportunity to children and families.
This ministry has been made possible through the dedication and commitment of Trisha Walker, whose passion for serving others has helped connect St. James with this important work in Liberia. Through Trisha’s leadership, communication, and continued updates, our parish has been able to follow the progress of this project and witness the impact it is having on a local community.
The Liberia School Project began with a vision: to create a place where children and students could learn, grow, and experience the love and support of a caring community. With the help of generous supporters, that vision is becoming a reality. The school has received approval to open, with plans to welcome students in September. Already, children and families are gathering, learning together, and preparing for this new chapter.
Through Trisha’s updates, St. James has been able to see the progress of the school building, including construction work, classroom preparation, and the excitement of the children and families who will become part of this new school community. These stories remind us that this project is about much more than bricks and mortar, it is about relationships, dignity, faith, and hope.
The Liberia School Project reflects our calling as Christians to seek and serve Christ in all people. By supporting education and community development, we are joining hands with our brothers and sisters in Liberia and recognizing that we are all part of God’s global family.
We give thanks for Trisha Walker and for her dedication to this ministry. We invite our parish family and community to continue praying for the children, families, teachers, and leaders involved in this project as they prepare for the school’s opening and the many blessings that will come from this partnership.
“Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.” — Mark 10:14
